2/4 experimental chibis from the raffle~ my apologies for the wait!

characters belong to Pastel-Circus (left) and InkyPrinceRick (right)


i really wated to emphasize the 'experimental' part here, these are the results of several tehniques i wanted to try - and see what sticks. c:

for the left one i went with a soft cell-shaded look, made a white layer and painted the shadows in to focus more on the form. i think it looks cleaner but that might also be the colors.

on the right i tried to go for more realistic shading, made a dark purple layer this time, clipped it to the colors, and painted in white where the light would hit. i don't think it worked out very well with this line size, but i believe on a larger piece they would complement eachother nicely. something to keep in mind.
